Scope:

To Design and Detail the Electrical Conduit for the given building using BIM software.

Design Process flow

  • ✔ Single Line Diagram will be studied first to understand the layout of the building and to know the number of panels and its area of scope.
  • ✔ The General Arrangement drawing, and Floor plan drawings will be compared to ensure alignment.
  • ✔ Model clean-ups will be done as required and the project standards will be setup.
  • ✔ Ceiling Plan will be referred to identify the available area to work and then it will be used to find the elevations and to coordinate with other service equipment.
  • After finishing the above steps, the Conduits will be designed and drafted.

Design challenges:

1. The number of bends should not exceed the client requirement.

2. The Conduits should not interfere with other service equipment.

3. Junction boxes should be placed in the accessible areas.

4. The Conduits should avoid passing thorough the Gypsum area and structural members if required.

  • The Output drawings will be provided in .dwg and .pdf formats from which the total length of wires required can be calculated and the wire laying process can be simplified.
