Following a modification to the PIC Regulation, EU exporters must now notice they intend to export 22 chemicals. In addition, the amendment prohibits the export of four substances. The update was released on April 20, 2022, and will take effect on July 1, 2022.
15 insecticides and seven industrial chemicals are among the 22 additional chemicals, which include all substances with benzene as a component at concentrations greater than 0.1 percent by weight.
Most of these compounds will also require specific authorization from the importing country before they can be exported, in addition to the export notification.
In addition, five substances that were previously exclusively subject to export notification will now be subject to import notification.
