Currently, 33 chemicals are under evaluation:

1. The “First 10” initial risk evaluations (6(b)(2)(A))
2. The “Next 20” designated as a high priority following the prioritization process
3. Three additional substances are added by the manufacturer’s request for risk evaluation.

The Risk Evaluation process is the second step in EPA’s existing chemical process under TSCA. The purpose of risk evaluation is to determine whether a chemical substance presents an unreasonable risk to health or the environment.
