The UK HSE added 15 substances/substance groups to the UK REACH Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs). This is the first substantive update to the UK REACH Candidate List since Brexit, bringing the total number of UK SVHCs to 224. Before this update, the UK Candidate List had not been substantively updated since the Brexit transition period ended in 2021. The UK has now begun operating an independent SVHC identification process and added 15 substances that had previously been identified as SVHCs in the EU between 2021 and 2025.
