Since December 2020, companies have had specific deadlines to update their REACH registrations - following the ECHA Commission’s implementing regulation on dossier updates.

ECHA is now working together with national enforcement authorities to identify cases where the update obligation has not been met. Their first focus is on dossiers covering substances of very high concern (SVHCs) on the Authorisation List. For example, when a company stops manufacturing or importing an authorized chemical, it must update its registration within three months. ECHA will contact affected companies through REACH-IT to remind them that their registrations may need revision.

ECHA encourages everyone to regularly review their REACH registrations and update them when necessary.
