PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances)

On 15 July 2021, the following countries Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden have submitted an intention to restrict the manufacture, placing on the market, and use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).  The five countries have launched a survey on PFAS and their alternatives and are looking for more information for the intended restriction. The deadline for comments is 19 September 2021. 

PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) 

They have submitted an intention to restrict the placing on the market and use of substances containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in clay targets for shooting (EC 266-028-2, CAS 65996-93-2) on 6 July 2021 for submission on 1 October 2021. 

Proposal of restriction for 2,4-dinitrotoluene submitted 

They have submitted a proposal to restrict the placing on the market or the use of 2,4-dinitrotoluene (EC 204-450-0, CAS 121-14-2) as a substance in articles for supply to the general public or professional workers in concentrations above 0,1 %.
