On May 2, 2022, the Responsible Mineral Initiative (RMI) and the Copper Mark announced the launch of a public consultation on the draft Risk Readiness Assessment (RRA) and Criteria Guide. The service is already available to all interested stakeholders and will be open till July 1, 2022. The RRA is a set of criteria that aids in the due diligence process of mining, smelting, refining, and manufacturing sites. The Copper Mark Criteria for Responsible Production also has the same foundation, against which sites are independently assessed during the Copper Mark Assurance Process. The RMI and the Copper Mark will work together to ensure that the RRA is widely accepted as a global standard for responsible mineral sourcing.
