The United Kingdom has its own cosmetics regulation to follow, from 1st January 2021. A Responsible Person within the UK is going to be mandatory to sell cosmetic products within the country. A cosmetic brand selling both within the EU and within the UK will then need a Responsible Person specific to every territory.

The name of the united kingdom RP will need to be added to the CPSR. An update of the merchandise Information File (PIF) is therefore needed for cosmetic products sold within the UK. In case of selling within the UK, the united kingdom Responsible Person’s contact details will need to feature on the merchandise label.EU and UK Responsible Persons’ information will therefore need to appear on the label if the merchandise is sold in both territories.

According to the EU regulations, the manufacturing country has got to figure on the merchandise label if this country is outside the EU. If the merchandise is manufactured in the UK and selling within the EU, The Label “Made in the UK” will need to be added to the label.

If the merchandise is manufactured within the EU and selling within the UK, the mention “made in EU” will need to be added to the label. Each product will need to be notified on the united kingdom notification system within 90 days following the Brexit day.

The notification portal is out there from January 1st, 2021. A product sold on both markets will then got to be notified on the united kingdom notification system and the CPNP.
