The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) has recently updated its Regulations on crash testing as follows:

● An 04 Series of Amendments to ECE 94 on the protection of occupants in the event of a front collision (offset deformable barrier impact).

● An 05 Series of Amendments to ECE 95 on the protection of occupants in the event of a lateral collision.

● An 02 Series of Amendments to ECE 137 on frontal collision with a focus on the restraint system (rigid barrier impact).

Each of these amendments has revised its requirements on post-crash electrical safety which are lined up with the United Nations Global Technical Regulation (UN GTR) No. 20’s requirements on electric vehicle safety. All these safety requirements apply to all the vehicles with an electric power train operating at high voltage.
