National Technical Committee on Maquillages & Colors of Standardization Administration of China is planning to revise and integrate the current seven public obligatory norms on limits of dangerous substances of coatings into three by 2025.
The revised norms will cover further products and introduce more advanced specialized pointers, which can more guarantee the high-quality green development of the coating assiduity.
China initiated the Three-time Action Plan on Defending Blue Sky in 2018, which largely prioritized the expression of the norms to control the emigrations of unpredictable organic composites (VOCs). In 2019 and 2020, six obligatory public norms ( see over) for VOCs control in coatings were published. Together with GB 24613-2009 which was published in 2009, they serve as strong support for VOCs operation.
Under the established norms, special functional coatings are pure from the content limitation of VOCs. Still, there are no specific list or identification criteria for special functional coatings, which presently only are nebulous descriptions, similar as simulated plating- tableware effect coatings, sequestration coatings, touch defenses, etc. To make it clear, diurnals of group norms will be set. In 2021, China has drafted T/ CSTM 00637-2022 Simulated Plating- tableware Effect Coatings, which detailed the conditions the simulated plating- tableware effect coatings should conform to, including electronic appliances, and face decoration of machine interior corridor, etc. Two or further group norms are anticipated to be issued in 2022. These group norms may be cited or indeed the contents may be included in the three public obligatory norms to be issued by 2025.
