The latest update to the Global Automotive Declarable Substance List GADSL will be reflected in the International Material Data System IMDS starting from 4 September 2025

This change includes new substances flagged due to potential classification as Medium Chain Chlorinated Paraffins MCCPs which are increasingly regulated due to environmental and health concerns

Substances Newly Flagged in IMDS

The following substances will now be marked as Declarable D or DeclarablePrioritized DP in IMDS

These may contain 80 percent or more linear chloroalkanes with carbon chain lengths between C14 and C17 which are categorized as MCCPs under existing regulations

Recommended Actions for IMDS Users

To ensure compliance users should:

• Review existing Material Data Sheets for the newly flagged substances
• Use the Regulation Wizard in IMDS to assess MCCP content
• Update MDS entries as needed to match the new GADSL classifications
• Stay up to date with further GADSL and IMDS changes
