Amendment to CLP Regulation

Following the recent amendment to the Classification, Labelling, and Packaging (CLP) Regulation, businesses are now permitted to include information regarding new hazard classifications in their IUCLID dossiers.

Implementation Date

Commencing on April 29, 2024, the IUCLID program will integrate the newly introduced hazard classes. This integration aims to facilitate the categorization, labelling, and packaging of chemicals and mixtures in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Incorporated Hazard Classes

The updated IUCLID will encompass several new hazard classes, including:

- Endocrine disruptors (ED) posing risks to human health or the environment
- Persistent, mobile, and toxic (PMT) substances
- Very persistent and very mobile (vPvM) substances
- Persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic (PBT) substances
- Very Persistent and very Bioaccumulative (vPvB) substances

Reporting Requirements

Businesses are encouraged to include comprehensive details about these newly classified hazards in their dossiers submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). These submissions should adhere to the CLP, REACH, and Biocidal Products laws, ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting transparency in chemical management.
