The scope was to design a sheet metal enclosure for a load planner assembly.

Why APA?

APA is working as an extended design team of this particular client for close to a decade.

Design process:

● Understanding the components required in the load planner assembly.

● Designing the planner assembly aesthetically.

● Assembling the Printer, Battery, TV monitor, barcode reader and other components with necessary clearance with proper ergonomics.

● Adding insulation panel & weather strip for necessary access areas.

● Adding doors in the necessary access areas.

● Using the self-clinching nuts, low profile head nuts, self-clinching threaded studs, quarter-turn fasteners for mounting instead of welding.

● Preparing assembly drawings, sheet metal manufacturing drawings along with bill of Materials

Value delivered:

● Avoiding complex Design - Designed the parts with simple bends to avoid difficulties during assembly

● Reducing manufacturing cost - Designed most of the features/parts as symmetrical wherever it is possible thus reduced the manufacturing cost.
